Claude Sonnet 5 is finally here, so I wanted to test it against Claude Opus 4.8 in a real-world way.

Instead of only looking at benchmarks, I gave both models the same prompts and had them build three different projects: a portfolio website, a personal finance app, and a full browser game.

The goal is simple: can Claude Sonnet 5 get close enough to Opus 4.8 that most people should just use Sonnet 5 instead? Or is Opus 4.8 still worth the extra cost?

In this video, I compare the results side by side, look at design quality, functionality, app logic, game performance, and pricing, then give my final verdict on which Claude model makes the most sense for builders, creators, and developers.
